She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. James E. Thomas and Sadye Marilla Young Thomas; and her husband Rufus. She is survived by: her children, Thomas (Angela), R. Sydney III and Alexis; her grandchildren, Katrina, Eric (Terri), Thomas (Nadine), Daunte (Aniece), Alana, Rachael (Luke) and Nathaniel; her great grandchildren, Jerod, Londyn, Cameron, Edyn, Ava, Ryan and Arya; her goddaughter Karis Joy Wright; and her cousins, William Scott, Reginald Robinson, Vennie Ewing (Virgil) and Jackie Simms.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church (612 Second St, Annapolis, MD 21403). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. An entombment was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens (1911 Forest Dr, Annapolis, MD 21401).
