She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Donald Straus; and her parents, William Held and Marion Kraut Held. She is survived by: her sons, Robert A. Straus (Mindy) of Lewes, Stewart H. Straus (Cherylene) of Moseley, Richard L. Straus (Susan) of Millsboro and David A. Straus (Donnie) of Phoenix; her grandchildren, Rebecca Straus, Leah Atwell (Scott), Cassie Straus, Chantal Straus, Leon Straus, Brandon Straus, Wesley Straus (Patty), Addie Straus, Bethany Straus, Benjamín Straus and Marcus Straus; and her great grandchildren, Alyssa Atwell and Gavin Atwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Selma may be made to the American Cancer Society.
