He was predeceased by: his parents, George Alexander and Marie Matilda Hanft (Georg); and his siblings, Earl, Walter, Virginia, Savilla, Alfreda and Ann. He is also survived by three nieces and nephews and is survived by thirteen nieces and nephews.
