He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. Murphy, Sr. and Pearl Worthington Murphy; his daughter Ruth E. Hudler; and his stepdaughter Gail Mundis. He is survived by: his stepmother Hazel T. Murphy; his wife Myrtle L. Murphy (Paxton-Sargable); his son Stephen D. Murphy, Jr. of Forest Hill; his stepdaughter Deborah K. VanOver (Aubrey) of Red Lion; and his granddaughter Michelle. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
