We are sad to announce that on January 31, 2025, at the age of 83, Virginia Cartagena of Worcester, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Virginia had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Virginia may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Braulio Cartagena and Antonia Huertas. She is survived by: her children, Rachel Weir of Worcester, MA, Josie Gonzalez of Albany, GA, Willie Carballo of Springfield, MA and Lucy Negron of Hopkinton, MA. She is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home (730 State St, Springfield, MA 01109). A burial was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at the Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc. (426 Bay St, Springfield, MA 01109).
