He was predeceased by: his brothers, Ernest, Gerard and Emile Barrette; and his parents, Noé Barrette and Irene Barrette (Proulx).
He is survived by: his wife Claire Barrette (Maynard); his sons, Jeffrey S. Barrette (Karen) of Florida and Bruce M. Barrette (Melissa) of Southbridge; his grandchildren, Lauren, Cassandra, David and Joshua; and his siblings, Raymond, Richard Barrette, Pauline Ethier, Alice LeDuc, Cecile Leclerc, Jeanne Boffi, Theresa Pelland, Helen Cloutier, Rita Martin and Susanne Theroux. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
