He was predeceased by: his former wife Ruth E. Campanale (Gregory); his son Vincent Campanale; his daughter-in-law Rhonda Campanale; his sister Frances Trotto; and his parents, Vincent Campanale and Mary Campanale (Mastrorio).

He is survived by: his wife Dianne M. Campanale (Dion); his sons, Peter Campanale, Jr. (Rita) of Florence, MA, Michael Campanale (Gayle Gravlin) of North Kingston, RI and Paul Campanale (Karen) of Worcester; his sister Marie Martucci of Shrewsbury; and his grandchildren, Brian Campanale (Andrea), Jennie Lyn Campanale, Marisa Piers-Gamble (Garrison), Gianna Washburn (Rob), Devin, Jack and Emma Campanale. He is also survived by six great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
