It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Oscar J. Arocha-Pietri (Worcester, Massachusetts), who passed away on January 27, 2020, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Freddy Arocha-Castresana and Carmen (Pietri) of Arocha. He is survived by: his wife Jacky Arocha-Pietri (Andraos); his children, Eduardo Arocha (Jaimee Law) of Miami, FL, Sophia Arocha of Miami, FL, Gabriel Arocha of Oakland, CA, Bruno Arocha of Oakland, CA, Alexia Arocha-Bergquist (James) of Oakland, CA and Natasha Arocha of New York, NY; his stepchildren, Dominik Maschek of Vienna, Austria and Alissa Pavlis of Vienna, Austria; his grandchildren, Anjali, Bianca, Giselle, Maximos and Hunter; his siblings, Freddy Arocha of Venezuela and Beatriz Suess of Miami, FL; and his former wife Izabel Souza. He is also survived by nephews and cousins.

“Hello, I've been trying to get in touch with my old young friend Oscar for years. We met in Vienna in 1975 and it was friendship "at first sight". We were only 14 but I still remember when we ran through the snow to go to a masquerade party dressed in kimonos and equipped with a scimitar. I was shocked to learn that my old young friend is no longer with us. I had never met such a generous, and beautiful person. I'm terribly sorry and I hug you all as if you were my family. Your Marcello”
