He was predeceased by: his children, Carl Carter and Monica Carter; and his siblings, Floritha Carter, Lezora Carter and Roosevelt Carter.
He is survived by: his former wife Rosemary Carter (Buckley); his daughters, Dorothy Humphries Carter, Dianne Harrington, JoAnn Hampton (Michael Hampton), Janice Carter and Angela Adom (Carter); his siblings, Stevie Mae Carter, Reola Carter, Linda Carter, Robert Carter (Licine), David Lee Carter and Paul Carter (Margie); and his grandchildren, Keona Gavin, Whitney Carter, Octavia Carter, Morgan Hampton, Kyle Humphries, Chase Humphries, Cody Carter, Bryce Carter and Cameron Adom. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
