He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewitt Vance, Sr. and Mildred Vance (Watkins); and his daughter Wanda Lucas. He is survived by: his wife Iola Vance (Lucas); his children, Howard K. Lucas of Worcester, Monica Vance of Worcester and Dion Mercado (David) of Worcester; and his siblings, James W. Vance of Milwaukee, Jacob of Worcester, Esau Vance of Worcester, Elma Boulding of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mary A Vance of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Margie Carter of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
