He was predeceased by: his parents, DeAlton W. Smith and Helen Smith (Mueller); his former wife Roberta "Bunny" Smith; and his sibling Thomas M. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Nancy C. Lawrence Smith of Waltham; his daughter Gillian Smith (John Simmons) of South Dartmouth; his grandchildren, Charles and Elizabeth; his sister Sharon Catalanotto of Bensenville, Illinois; his stepson Augustine 'Gus Lawrence; and his daughter Annika. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
