He was predeceased by: his wives, Maureen E. Higgins (Friel) and Ann Higgins (Fredrickson); his children, David and Anne Margaret; his grandson Billy Downs; and his parents, Daniel Higgins and Mary Higgins (Kelley).
He is survived by: his children, Daniel, Michael, John, Paul, Matthew, Maureen, Eileen and Kathleen; his sister Sally Dunphy (Edward Dunphy); and his friends, Haley Fredrickson, Helen Friel, Patricia, Bruce O'Connell, Sheila Friel, Jan Friel, Jeanie Krofina and Maryrita Stambro. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan's memory may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church or to the Worcester County Food Bank.
