He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Irene Chanis (Davidson); his sons, Christopher Chanis (Roula) of Spencer, Stephen Chanis (Norma) of West Boylston, Peter Chanis (Lisa Whited) of Portland, ME and Gregory Chanis (Polly Chandler) of Tiburon, CA; his grandchildren, Claire, Alexander and Gabriel Chanis of Portland, ME; his siblings, William P. Chanis, Sophia Johns and Dorothy Bowse; and his parents, Spyridon Chanis and Vasiliki Chanis (Pappas). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
