She was predeceased by: her parents, John P. McCarthy and Margaret McCarthy; her husband Daniel "Joe" McCarthy; and her siblings, Arlene Nadolny, Helen Nadolny and Jack McCarthy.
She is survived by: her children, Michael McCarthy (Adrienne) of Billerica, Paul McCarthy (Carol) of Tewksbury, David McCarthy (Charlene) of Billerica, Donald McCarthy of Woburn, James "Butch" McCarthy (Linda Brady) of Burlington and Marylou Douzepis (Harry) of Saco, ME.; her grandchildren, David McCarthy, Steven McCarthy, Amy McCarthy-Gawel, Michelle, Jason Powers, Nathan Powers and Leah Hartung; and her great grandchildren, Cody, Grady, Kerry, Jackson and Millie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
There was one patient that appreciated her warmth so much, that he made a 1-million-dollar donation to the hospital in her honor.
