She was predeceased by: her grandson Matthew; and her parents, Dorothy McElhaney (Cartwright) and William McElhaney. She is survived by: her spouse Wadie J. Geraigery; her children, Michael Geraigery (Yulisa) of Woburn, Brad Geraigery (Keiola) of Methuen, Lindsey Demmons (Brian) of Woburn and Ileana Villavicencio (Ivan) of Lowell; her grandchildren, Yuliana, Christian, Cayden, Alexia, Colin, Mackenzie and Vivian Jonilee; and her brothers, Scott McElhaney of Worcester and Timothy McElhaney (Judy) of Billerica. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, along with dear friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home (263 Main St, Woburn, MA 01801). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Charles Church (280 Main St, Woburn, MA 01801).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joni's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
