Gary J. Gonsalves Obituary
Of Woburn, died March 20th, at seventy-two years of age.
Born and raised in Woburn, Gary was the beloved son of Jean M. (Lucas) Gonsalves of Westminster and the late Ernest R. Gonsalves. He graduated from Woburn High School in 1970 and continued his education at Wentworth Institute in Boston, later starting a long career as a machinist at Custom Machine Inc. of Woburn.
Throughout his life, Gary cherished outdoor activities, particularly skiing, snowmobiling, boating, fishing, and camping. He also took pleasure in strumming his guitar and enjoying serene motorcycle rides.
He was also a lover of animals, especially his beloved companion, his dog Otto.
He will be deeply missed.
In Addition to his mother, Gary is survived by his children, Gary J. Gonsalves Jr., his husband David Stansell of Boston, Michael Gonsalves, his wife Chelsea of MD, Peter Gonsalves, his wife Raven of CA, and Melissa Lombardo of North Billerica. Proud grandfather of seven. Dear brother of Ernest Gonsalves, his wife Betsy of PA, Barbara Jean Wilson, her husband Alex of Reading, Julie Cuddy of Peabody, Debra Graham, her husband Steven of Westminster, Roy Gonsalves of NH and the late Diane Gonsalves.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Monday, March 31st at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours PRIOR to the Service in the Funeral Home from 10-11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in honor of Gary to the MSPCA-Angell Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
