It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Lee Pepi of Winthrop, Massachusetts, born in Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 24, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James E. O'Hara, Sr. and Dorothy M. O'Hara (Breault); her son Joshua W. J. Pepi; and her siblings, Kevin P. O'Hara, Sr., Dorothy M. McGrath, Richard F. O'Hara and James E. O'Hara, Jr..

She is survived by: her husband Gerald A. Pepi of Winthrop, Loving; her children, Jennifer R. D. Pepi (late Gregory Lewis) of Winthrop, Rachel J. Williams (Walter A.) of Brockton and Alicyn J. Thompson (Christopher L.) of Winthrop; her grandchildren, Zoe, Joey, Michaela, Toni-Rae, Chelsea, Tory, Tess and Layne; her great grandchild Masen; and her sisters, Leona M. Orlando (John) of Revere and Patricia A. D'Addario (Joseph DiGenio) of Newmarket, NH. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

“To Carol’s Family: Professor Pepi was a remarkable woman. Her commitment to her students and colleagues was without equal. I spoke to her a few months ago. She talked vigorously for an hour about teaching incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women. Her love and concern for them was so obvious as we spoke. I am humbled to have been her colleague and blessed to be her friend. May she rest peacefully and may the blessing of her life be present to you as healing love. Stephen Healey”
