With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alvin B. Chavis of Winthrop, Massachusetts, born in South Hill, Virginia, who passed away on September 27, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Chavis and Alma B. Chavis (Brown); and his brother James Young. He is survived by: his wife Karin A. Chavis (Broberg); his children, Michael Chavis (Christine) of North Andover and Deborah "Debbie" Chavis of Winthrop; his grandchildren, Corey Chavis, Meghan Dalton (Griffin), Michael John Chavis and Robert "Bobby" Diaz; and his siblings, Virginia Coleman of Philadelphia, Bettye Gaines of Middleboro, Douglas Chavis of Weymouth, Dorothy Evans, Edgar Young, William Chavis, Sarah Lewis, George Chavis and Carlton Chavis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
