He was predeceased by: his grandchildren, Lisa Lacey and Joseph MacLellan Jr.; his siblings, Jean LaPorte and Neil Lacey; and his parents, Jane Lacey (MacKnight) and Neil Lacey.
He is survived by: his wife Marie V. Lacey; his children, Kristine Lacey, Carolyn MacLellan (Joseph) and John Lacey Jr.; and his grandchildren, Jacqueline Lacey, Lacey MacLellan (Sarah), Cassandra MacLellan, Genevieve Lacey and Michael Lacey.
