He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward O'Brien and Florence O'Brien; his sister Peggy Luckman; and his father-in-law Gabriel Ragucci of Stoneham. He is survived by : his wife Paulette O'Brien (Ragucci) of Wilmington; his children, Kristen Gibson (Nicholas) of Stoneham, Gabriel of Stoneham and Vivien Gibson of Stoneham; his siblings, Florence O'Brien of Raynham and Edward O'Brien Jr.; and his mother-in-law Susan. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Nichols Funeral Home (187 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA 01887). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Thomas of Villanova Church (126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA 01887). A burial was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Wildwood Cemetery (233 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA 01887).
