He was predeceased by: his parents, Clythie Ashdown (Hazlett) and Stanley Ashdown; his brother Darrell Ashdown (Alice Ashdown); and his siblings-in-law, Richard Hersom of Wilmington, John Hersom of Wilmington and Maureen Dugan of Wilmington.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine P. Ashdown (Hersom); his children, Tracie Clythie Calder of Boston, Jaylene Pearl Ashdown of Wilmington, Kimberly Dorothy Humphrey of Wilmington and Brian Roy Ashdown (Kristan) of Saugus; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Brennick (late Leo) of Wilmington, Marie Pote (late Tom) of Wilmington, Dorothy Pilcher (late John) of Wilmington and Fran Hersom of Wilmington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
