He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Elia and Olga Elia (Stavre); his wife Cynthia Elia (Wardwell); and his siblings, John Elia of Elia's Country Store, Helen Pilla and Olga Christo.
He is survived by: his children, Michael J. Elia, Jr. (Patrice) of Tewksbury, Melissa Elia of Wilmington, Christine Elia (Clay Kellam) of Bridgewater, NJ and Jon Elia of Wilmington; and his grandchildren, Matthew Elia, Nicole Elia, Clay Kellam, Alex Kellam and Natalie Kellam. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
