He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph L. McCarthy and Mary McCarthy (Corbet); his wife Marilyn McCarthy (Damron); and his daughter Frances A. "Sissy" Dalton. He is survived by: his sons, James J. McCarthy (Christine) of Billerica and Robert P. McCarthy (late Linda) of Ashburnham. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
