McCarthy of Wilmington, Massachusetts, born in Somerville, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Joseph leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Joseph may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph L. McCarthy and Mary McCarthy (Corbet); his wife Marilyn McCarthy (Damron); and his daughter Frances A. "Sissy" Dalton. He is survived by: his sons, James J. McCarthy (Christine) of Billerica and Robert P. McCarthy (late Linda) of Ashburnham. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Nichols Funeral Home (187 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA 01887). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Dorothy's Church (11 Harnden St, Wilmington, MA 01887). The military honors will be held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Wildwood Cemetery (233 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA 01887).
