He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Derby and Gertrude Derby (Sherman); and his brother Gerald "Duke" Derby. He is survived by: his wife Janice M. Derby (Schneider); his children, Janice West and Edward J. Derby, Jr. (Christie); his grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Molly West, Brittany Guyette and Alexis Lauzon; his great grandchildren, Cole James, Leah and David; and his siblings, Sherman Derby, Sr. (Sandra), Ronald Derby (Maryann), Paul Derby (Helen), Letitia Leahy and Pamela Curry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
