He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvia and Harold; and his sister Barbara. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Joffe-Halpern; his children, Rebecca Filson (Brent) and Noah Halpern (Hillary); his brothers, Stephen and Andrew Halpern; and his grandchildren, Maya, Judah, Marlowe, Evan and Jake.
