He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Schmidt and Lucille Schmidt (Golla); his wife Barbara (Kisic); and his son Michael J. Schmidt. He is survived by: his daughters, Gretchen M. Cardoso of Wilbraham and Lisa M. Tshonas of Ellington, CT.; and his grandchildren, Ryan Cardoso of Wilbraham, Kylie Cardoso of Waltham, MA, Rachel and Nicholas Tshonas of Ellington, CT..
