He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Schmidt and Lucille Schmidt (Golla); his wife Barbara (Kisic); and his son Michael J. Schmidt. He is survived by: his daughters, Gretchen M. Cardoso of Wilbraham and Lisa M. Tshonas of Ellington, CT.; and his grandchildren, Ryan Cardoso of Wilbraham, Kylie Cardoso of Waltham, MA, Rachel and Nicholas Tshonas of Ellington, CT..

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ken's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
