It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Thorpe Sr. of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, born in Townsend, Georgia, who passed away on June 7, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his stepmother Lucille Drake Spaulding Thorpe; his significant other Debra Thorpe; his children, Sierra, Robert, Emily, Hamilton and Emerson; his siblings, Henry Thorpe (Margaret) of Jacksonville, FL, Daniel Thorpe (Ramona) of Waco, James Thorpe (Angela) of East Longmeadow, MA, Benton Thorpe (Roslyn) of Decatur, GA, Theodore Thorpe (Patricia) of Sun City, CA and Valmus Morgan (Earl) of Harris Neck, GA; his stepsiblings, Betty Thorpe (Charles) of Savannah, GA, Lucille Bacon (Elijah) of Savannah, GA, Gloria Smith (Larry) of Savannah, GA, Johnnie and Samuel Spaulding of Crescent, GA; and his aunts, Maude Thorpe of Harris Neck, GA, Rosa Glenn of Springfield, MA and Mamie Brennon of Cannon Bluff, GA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
