He was predeceased by: his parents, John Monteiro and Beatrice Monteiro (Oliveira); his son Dean Monteiro; his former wife Madeline Monteiro (Connelly); his brother MJ Monteiro; and his son-in-law Michael Caruso.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Monteiro (Powers); his children, Darryl Monteiro (Nancy) of Fall River, Karl Monteiro (Olga) of Wilbraham, Donna Giella (Joseph) of Mattapoisett and Laurie Caruso of Springfield; and his grandchildren, David, Kimberly, Samuel, Robin, Gabriel, Rosemary, Erin, Maria, Anthony, Ryan, Sean, Austin and Kristina. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
