It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard McAvoy of Whitman, Massachusetts, born in Brockton, Massachusetts, who passed away on May 25, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jane A. McAvoy (Carroll); his children, Kathleen O'Leary (Daniel) of East Bridgewater, James McAvoy (Tracey) of Easton, Lynne Hammond (late Donald) of Gloucester, Karen "Kelly" Murray of Jacksonville, FL and John "Jay" McAvoy (Lori) of Inverness, FL; and his brother Robert McAvoy of Whitinsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
