He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Smith and Lucy Smith (Bruce); his wife Alice (Gillen); his brothers, Robert Smith of Mattapan and Fredrick Smith (Jackie); and his siblings-in-law, Cathy Haikola (Erkki) of Easton and Lawrence Gillen (Marianne). He was also cherished by his many nieces and nephews.
