He was predeceased by: his parents, Philippe L. U. and Emma M. Hamelin (Bousquet); his wife Sophia Hamelin (Roy) of Whitman, MA.; and his son Mark Roy Hamelin. He is survived by: his children, Joan Winstead (Harold) of Bangor, ME, Gregory Hamelin (Cheryl) of Glenburn, ME, Paul Hamelin of Whitman, MA, Maryanne Chenard of Whitman, MA, Peter Hamelin (Ellie) of Carver, MA and Edward J Hamelin Jr (Jheinigton Vinha) of Abington, MA; his grandchildren, Christopher Winstead, Sarah Hamelin LeBlanc (Douglas LeBlanc Sr), Sean Wyman (Julie) and Casey Wyman; his stepgrandchildren, Brayden LeBlanc and Douglas LeBlanc Jr; and his great grandchild Addison LeBlanc. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
