With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joanne Melia of Whitinsville, Massachusetts, born in Jersey City, New Jersey, who passed away on September 6, 2024 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Hoyt and Eleanor Hoyt (Busa); and her sister Theresa "Terry" Buma. She is survived by: her husband Tom; her daughters, Justice Jennifer Melia (Robert Rice) and Jane Labrie; her grandchildren, Abby, Kate, Jill, Tommy, Michael and Timmy; her sisters, Barbara (Bill Leonard) of Northbridge, MA and Jean (Christopher Kelly) of St. Petersburg, FL.; and her brother-in-law Fred Buma of Northbridge, MA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 10th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carr Funeral Home (24 Hill St, Whitinsville, MA 01588). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Patrick's Church (1 Cross St, Whitinsville, MA 01588).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Glioblastoma Foundation P.O. Box 62066 Durham, NC 27715.
