He was predeceased by: his brothers, Richard and Thomas; and his former wife Nancy Morse Briggs. He is survived by: his wife Leona Britton Briggs; his children, Roben Selditz (David) of Maine, Leon R Briggs III of Florida, Lance Briggs MD (Cindy) of North Carolina, Rebecca Chafel, Lisa Hedrick (Steven) of Holliston, MA and Maribeth Breen (Jack); and his grandchildren, Kristen, Kate Hedrick, Sam, Andrew Briggs, Kylah, Corey Breen and Franny Chafel.
