He is survived by: his siblings, Charles Greenaway, Riley Greenaway, Arthur Greenaway, James Greenaway, Herbert Greenaway, Mary Greenaway and Ann Greenaway; his children, Cynthia Daley and Johnny Greenaway; and his former wife Eola Greenaway.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John Greenaway's name can be made to Pine Street Inn, Rosie's Place, or Cambridge Seventh Day Adventist Church, 43 Norwood Street, Everett, MA 02149.
