He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Machado Borges and Rosa Isis of Fatima; and his sister Filomena Bettencourt. He is survived by: his wife Filomena P. Borges (Pereira); his daughter Diana Brum (Carlos) of Westport; his grandson Bradey Brum; and his nieces and nephews, Victor Bettencourt, Ana Paula Leal, Joana Brasil, Joao Nelson Bettencourt and Renato Bettencourt. He is also survived by several cousins and godchildren.
