She was predeceased by: her husband Ward Carter; and her son Dana W. Carter. She is survived by: her daughter Chrystalynn of Erie, Colorado; her sister Barbara Peterson of Anderson; her niece Berryl Bate of Asheville, NC; and her nephews, Bruce Bate (Carol Bate) of Hartwell, Georgia and Glen K. Peterson (Kelly Rappucci).
