With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alan Louis Chaffee of Westford, Massachusetts, born in Springfield, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 6, 2024 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by: his parents, Malvern Chaffee and Viola Chaffee (Fortin); his former wife Maureen Chaffee (Macdonald); his in-laws, James and Mae Macdonald; his stepdaughter Kimberly Brown (Kelly); and his son-in-law James Barrett.
He is survived by: his wife Judith V. Chaffee; his daughter Eileen Barrett (Chaffee); his grandchildren, James Jr., Jennifer and Julia of Westford; his daughter Kathleen Briley (Ron); his grandchildren, Shane, Meghan (Benjamin Timm) and Ross of Albuquerque; his stepson Mark Kelly (Roxanne); his stepgrandchildren, Keric (Samantha) and Conor (Stephanie) of Billerica; his stepdaughter Tricia Randall (Butch); his stepgrandchildren, Emily, Ray and Kaylee of Agawam; his stepson Matthew Kelly; his stepgrandchildren, Nolan, Peyton and Calvin of Houston; his niece Susan Sims (Grasso) of Crofton, MD; and his nephew Michael A. Grasso of Franklin.
