He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sampson and Matilda Sampson (Greenwood); and his children, Diane Sampson, Robert Sampson and Thomas Sampson.

He is survived by: his wife Muriel Y. Sampson (Giguere); his sons, Donald W. Sampson (Mary Ellen) of Ft. Worth, TX and Walter Sampson, Jr. of Westfield; his granddaughters, Alyssa Sampson and Sabrina Sampson; and his great grandchildren, Alivia, Taylor and Aiden.
