He was predeceased by: his wife Anna (Fitzgerald); his parents, George Garvey and Marion Garvey (Hart); and his siblings, Mary Neal (Garvey), George, William, James and Donald.
He is survived by: his children, Katie Strong (Robert) of Westfield, Patrick Garvey (Gail) of Westfield and Timothy Garvey (Nadia) of Feeding Hills; his grandchildren, Brendan, Olivia Strong, Ryan Garvey of Westfield, Aidan and Milanna Garvey of Feeding Hills; his great grandchild Julia Strong; his brothers-in-law, Edward Fitzgerald and Paul Meagher; and his nephew Congressman Richard Neal.
