He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman H. Smith and Helen Smith (Borowik). He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Smith (Wyatt); his children, Norman H. Smith III (Mary Brennan), Alan Smith (Ana Smith) and Pamela Hitchcock (Steven Hitchcock); his grandchildren, Shaun Hitchcock, Kayla Hitchcock, Justin Hitchcock, Alec Smith, Sean and Tara Santos; his great grandchildren, Koby Coffey, Anabelle Roman, Silas Hitchcock, Mariana Roman and Emery Hitchcock; and his siblings, Richard Smith (Joni), Barbara Bendtson and Frances Haley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Services (76 Broad St, Westfield, MA 01085). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (127 Holyoke Rd, Westfield, MA 01085). The military honors was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Massachusetts Veterans' Cemetery (1390 Main St, Agawam, MA 01001). A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery (1390 Main St, Agawam, MA 01001).
