She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton Jooss and Anna Jooss (Lugscheider); and her siblings, Helga Lough, Margrete Deso, Walli Tade and Franz Jooss.
She is survived by: her husband Charles D. Stevens of Westfield; her children, Anna M. Wassung (Gary) of Westfield, John Wayne Pignatare of Westfield and Jason A. Stevens (Claudette Nolting) of Feeding Hills; her grandchildren, Amy, Tracy, Billy, Adina, Nikita, Jason, Rowenn, Ainsley and Reese; and her brother Alfons Jooss of Germany. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria's memory to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Leeds.
