He was predeceased by: his mother Alice Andersen; his stepfather Carl Andersen; and his close friend Dick Fullam. He is survived by: his wife Karlene Nielsen (Wood); his children, Leslie Nielsen of West Springfield, Erik Nielsen of West Springfield and Kay Nielsen of West Springfield; his great grandchildren, Dominic Furnari and Emilia Furnari; and his friends, Peter Smith (Cheryl), Fred Waterhouse and Richard Salsman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charlie's memory to the Shriner's Childrens Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield MA 01104.
