He was predeceased by: his daughter Melissa L. McDermott; and his parents, Robert F. McDermott and Marjorie Anderson (Busse). He is survived by: his wife Hye Suk McDermott (Om); his daughter Laura L. McDermott of Las Vegas, NV; and his grandson Zachary M. McDermott-Tashjian.
