With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Rooney Clancy (Westborough, Massachusetts), born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 1, 2019 at the age of 50. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan Rooney Clancy to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her father Daniel Rooney; and her sisters, Kathleen Miller and Rita Rooney. She is survived by: her husband Christopher K. Clancy; her mother Patricia Rooney of Pittsburgh; her children, Shane Clancy of Westborough, Jacob Clancy of Westborough and Michaela Clancy of Westborough; and her siblings, Arthur Rooney (Greta) of Pittsburgh, Daniel Rooney (Allison) of Gastonia, NC, John Rooney (Emma) of Larchmont, NY, James Rooney (Stephanie) of Sewickley, PA, Patricia Gerrero (Robert) of Carnegie, PA and Mary Duffy Rooney of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Rd., Sudbury, MA 01776.

I knew Joan when she was in 7-8 grade at St. Bernard's School. I was the moderator of her varsity cheerleading squad and Joan was the co-captain. She was always smiling and that is how I will remember her - a smile that left too soon. May she rest in peace.”
