He was predeceased by: his parents, George Robert Buchanan and Elizabeth Verna Buchanan (Murray); his sisters, Jane Yaun (David) and Laura Simpson (Vernon); his in-laws, Frank and Dorothy Valentino; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Valentino (Filomena) and George Ponzoni.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Louise Valentino; his children, Steven Buchanan (Rhonda), Cheryl Sojkowski (Richard) and Kenneth Buchanan; his granddaughters, Kristen Buchanan, Jessica Buchanan, Nicole Sojkowski and Julie Sojkowski; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Ponzoni. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
