It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lydia Pires (West Wareham, Massachusetts), born in Providence, Rhode Island, who passed away on December 27, 2019, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her spouse Sidney Pires Sr.; and her parents, Caesar Monteiro and Anastasia Monteiro (Sweeney). She is survived by: her children, Lynne Lopes of Onset, Brian Pires (Wareham), Lydia Lightford of Brockton, Barry Pires (Wareham), Roberta Pires (Wareham), Sidney "Peachie" Pires (Wareham), Paul Pires of Onset and Darrell Pires (Wareham); and her siblings, Caesar "Sam" Monteiro, Jr., Edwin "Eddie" Monteiro of Wareham, Catherine "Kakie" Monteiro of Onset and Robert "Robbie" Monteiro of West Wareham. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
