He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph C. Murphy and Virginia D. Murphy (Vaughn); his close friend Rosemary of West Springfield; his children, Sylvester R. Murphy, Jr. of Everett, MA, Sebastian Murphy of Holyoke, Rodney Mayfield of Springfield, Ronald Collier, Jr. of Ashfield, Sharon Collier of Springfield and Kathleen Kentch of Wisconsin; and his siblings, Bishop, Judy Murphy Jack of Albany, Pecolia Macklin of Greenbush, NY, Dr. Willie Francis Murphy of Rochester, NY and Corrine Murphy of Utica, NY. He was also cherished by twelve grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
