He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Patrick Healy of Newbridge and Catherine Keohane of Clonakilty, Ireland.; his wife Nancy; his children, Dr. Kristen Gunning (John) of Canton, Carolyn Walker (Frank) of Lowell and Sean Patrick Healy; his grandchildren, Patrick Gunning, Connor, Catherine "Katie" Lawless, Kevin, Michael and Meghan Gunning; his siblings, Mary Gallant and Dennis Healy; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Jacobs, Karen Green and John Green. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
