He is survived by: his wife Joan Heimlich (Tracy); his daughters, Jayne Conroy (Mark) of West Dennis, Beth Smith (David) of Wellesley, Julie Kiely (Robert) of Ipswich, Jennifer Conaty (Thomas) of Wilmington, DE and Ellyn Hurd (Robert) of Marion; his grandchildren, Mildred Conroy, Eli Smith, Eleanor Conroy, Asa Smith, June Kiely, Louise Conaty, Ian Smith, Joan Kiely, Veronica Smith, William "Will" Hurd, Thomas Conaty V, Peter Hurd II and Frederick "Fritz" Conaty; and his siblings, Oscar Heimlich and Gertrude Uzdavinis.

“Sorry for your loss. I'm not sure whether I actually met Mr. Heimlich but I seem to have followed in his path. I went to St. Charles elementary school and Woburn High. I played football there and also at Lowell Technological Institute from which I graduated (EE). I worked at Hjorth Lathe and Tool with my pal and son of ownerJames Begley (Orca, 40 ft SF Gloucester). My dad was a machinst and worked part time there and, I believe, for your father at Heimlich Eng'g nearby. Sorry if inappropriate.”
