He was predeceased by: his wife Vivian E. Emerson (Gagnon); his son John C. Emerson, III; and his parents, John C. Emerson and Lois E. Emerson (King). He is survived by: his grandsons, John C. Emerson, IV of West Brookfield and Thomas Emerson (Skye) of West Brookfield; and his siblings, Russell Emerson (Rita) of North Brookfield and Elizabeth Ducharme of Warren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
